Why am I talking about living a more balanced life when I coach on health and nutrition?
Great question!
We spend a lot of time separating the different areas of our lives: relationships, career, money, exercise, health.
Did you know that if one area of your life is out of whack, your whole life can be affected?
For me, when I have been in bad relationships or felt unfulfilled at work, for example, I often felt sicker. All my physical and mental energy were taken up by spending all day unhappy and stressed. It is all interconnected.
As people with autoimmune or chronic illness, we often put all our energy into our health and end up neglecting other areas of our lives.
So, what would creating a more balanced life look like for you?
I am glad you asked.
Creating a more balanced life would mean taking a good look at all areas of your life and making decisions about what is and isn’t working in each area. Then, taking action to make change in the areas that need it.
I know… it sounds like a lot to figure out on your own.
Sometimes we stay stuck in our lives because it is simply easier. Staying stuck in the “familiar” feels safer than stepping out into the great unknown.
So… you just stay stuck.
You may even feel trapped in a life you didn’t want and don’t like very much.
Unfortunately, without looking at all areas of your life, you can never truly heal. In fact, you would have way more energy to work on your autoimmune condition if the rest of your life was more in balance.
Don’t worry, I am here to help. But first…
How will you know if your current life is unbalanced?
-
Do you feel frazzled by the end of the day, wishing you had some support?
-
Are you binge eating or making poor nutrition choices because of stress, sadness, anger, or being bored?
-
Do you feel like no one understands you?
-
Do you feel like you’re not really succeeding at work or at home?
-
Do you want more confidence and self-acceptance?
-
Do you wish you had more energy?
-
Do you want to be held accountable to show up for yourself?
-
Did you answer yes to any or all of these?
What do you do now that you know you’re not living a balanced life… yet?
Change can be hard to accomplish on your own. The good news is that you do not have to do it alone.
