I have four autoimmune diseases, 3 certifications from the top health and nutrition coach programs, and years of working with clients.

And still…

Before I decided to relaunch ReNew, I asked myself many times, who am I to help others? I’m not perfect… it’s not like I cured myself of my autoimmune conditions.

But here’s the thing guys, I was you, and somedays I still am you. That is exactly why I am a health coach who gets you results.

I’ve lived for half my life with autoimmune disease. I know the pain, the struggle, the sadness, and the fear. I know how it disrupts your life, your goals, and your dreams for the future.

I know what it takes to keep fighting and how easy it is to give up.

The difference between you and me is simply that I have a huge variety of tools to deal with the day to day challenges of living with autoimmune disease — The right foods to eat, the physical activity I can handle, the stress management techniques, the mental mindset it takes to thrive, and the right doctors.

Was it always easy? No. I needed support and education along the way.

Getting the right support changes everything. The fear, the anxiety, the sadness, the loneliness, the pain, the exhaustion… it all becomes easier to face.

Part of the fight is acceptance. Sometimes you need to learn the temporary limitations you may have, learn to not be reactive, not get overwhelmed, learn your triggers, listen to how you talk to yourself, learn to communicate your needs, and know how to ask for support. It is a lot, which exactly why you need a Health Coach to help you navigate the journey back to better health.

So, let me ask you, on the days you wake up with more pain than usual, or feel like you’ve been hit by a truck, what is your mental mindset?

How do you react emotionally?

What are the words you use in those moments?

Are you angry, sad, mad?

Maybe you even feel like a failure, like you did something to cause this.

Any of that sound familiar?

For me, on the days I can’t do something as simple as open a jar due to pain, I may want to throw that jar across the room and watch it smash to pieces, but I don’t. I don’t get angry with myself, my hands, or the jar. I try to find some humor, laugh, and ask for help.

On the days I am doubled over with cramps, feeling like I can’t stand up, sometimes I want to scream and cry, but I usually don’t. I breath deeply, reminding myself this is temporary and will pass.

Tackling your illness on a daily basis requires a total mindset shift, new habits, a reduction in limiting beliefs, and even an intense awareness of the words you use.

It is OK to need support. Most people need support with these things. Including me sometimes.

So, do I still get flares even though I am health coach? I sure do. I just know how to tackle them better.

If you’re ready to tackle your illness, if you’re tired of living in the mental space of “I will never get better”, if you’re ready to fight… I am ready to stand by your side, support you, guide you, and fight with you. You don’t have figure it all on your own.
